As an Operations Manager at Symbos, you’ll be responsible for leading operational teams delivering outcomes across fintech banking collectionsportfolios, with scope to expand into motor finance as the business grows. You’ll oversee performance, productivity and service delivery in a fast‑paced, client‑facing environment, ensuring teams consistently meet commercial targets, SLAs and regulatory requirements.

This role requires strong operational judgement, commercial acumen, and the ability to lead through performance. You’ll be comfortable taking ownership end‑to‑end — balancing people leadership, client expectations and risk — while continually improving how work gets done as portfolios scale and evolve.

What You’ll Be Doing;

  • Leading and managing operational teams to deliver against agreed revenue, cost, productivity and SLA targets.
  • Driving high‑quality execution of operating models, workflows and performance frameworks across assigned portfolios.
  • Owning day‑to‑day client relationships, ensuring service delivery aligns with contractual and performance commitments.
  • Monitoring operational risk across quality, information security, business continuity and compliance, and ensuring effective controls are in place.
  • Reviewing systems, processes and procedures to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and increased efficiency.
  • Preparing and presenting performance reporting, insights and improvement plans for clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Coaching and developing operations leaders and frontline managers to build capability, accountability and succession depth.
  • Setting clear performance expectations, conducting performance reviews, and providing timely, practical feedback.
  • Supporting workforce planning, recruitment and onboarding in partnership with People & Culture.
  • Contributing to operational and tactical planning as part of the broader leadership group.

What You’ll Bring;

  • Proven experience leading operational teams in financial services, banking, fintech, motor finance, collections or regulated contact‑centre environments.
  • A strong track record of delivering commercial outcomes across revenue, cost, productivity and service targets.
  • Confidence operating in client‑facing environments, managing expectations and building trusted relationships.
  • Sound financial literacy, with the ability to manage budgets, performance data and commercial trade‑offs.
  • Experience managing risk and compliance within regulated or service‑critical operations.
  • A practical, hands‑on leadership style with the ability to inspire performance and hold teams accountable.
  • Clear, professional communication skills and the ability to influence across multiple stakeholder groups.
  • The ability to lead teams through change in evolving or scaling portfolios.
