The Opportunity
We are partnering with our client to hire a Business Reporting Lead to take ownership of their reporting platform and how data is delivered across the business.
This is a hands-on leadership role combining technical delivery with ownership, governance, and stakeholder management. The successful candidate will ensure reporting is accurate, consistent, and aligned to business needs, while continuing to build and maintain dashboards directly.
You will work closely with cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders, bringing structure to reporting, improving standards, and ensuring the platform can scale as the business grows.

Key Responsibilities
Reporting Platform Ownership
- Own and manage the reporting platform end to end
- Ensure reporting is accurate, consistent, and aligned across teams
- Define and maintain reporting structures, standards, and frameworks
- Act as the escalation point for reporting issues or inconsistencies
Governance and Standards
- Establish and manage reporting governance, including security and access
- Maintain data definitions, glossary, and reporting consistency
- Ensure reports follow structured and standardised formats
- Improve reliability and trust in reporting outputs
Hands-on Reporting and Development
- Design, build, and maintain dashboards using Power BI
- Work with data across multiple systems including SQL and Excel
- Ensure reports are well-structured, performant, and fit for purpose
- Maintain a hands-on role in delivery, not just oversight
Stakeholder Management and Prioritisation
- Partner with stakeholders to understand reporting needs and challenges
- Manage reporting demand, priorities, and expectations
- Provide guidance on what should be built and how reporting should be structured
- Confidently push back where needed to ensure focus and alignment
Continuous Improvement
- Identify gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities within reporting processes
- Strengthen workflows, documentation, and reporting practices
- Drive improvements in how reporting is delivered and maintained
- Support adoption of better tools, processes, and standards
What We’re Looking For
Core Requirements
- Strong experience in Power BI including dashboard development and data modelling
- Working knowledge of SQL and Excel in a reporting or analytics environment
- Experience owning or contributing to reporting governance, standards, and structure
- Proven ability to manage stakeholders and translate requirements into reporting solutions
- Hands-on approach with the ability to balance delivery and ownership
- Strong communication and decision-making capability
- Ability to work across multiple teams and manage competing priorities
Nice to Have
- Experience managing or mentoring reporting or BI team members
- Exposure to reporting platform optimisation or scaling environments
- Background in operational, customer, or performance reporting
- Familiarity with AI-enabled reporting or automation tools
- Strong report design and usability mindset
